F46367/Pune dated 13/11/2014. Successfully organised IGC 2015 at COE, Pune in December 2015. It has established 28 student chapter under its umbrella. Recognizing our outstanding contributions, IGS Pune Chapter received the prestigious award for the best local chapter at IGC 2022 held at Kochi.

    Bhubaneswar chapter is the 32nd Local chapter of the Indian Geotechnical Society, inaugurated on 9th July 2011 at the Institution of Engineers Conference Hall at Bhubaneswar. Prof K.S.Rao was the Chief Guest at the event . Prof. P.K.Dash was the Chairman and A.C.Ray was the Vice chairman in the event. Er. Laxmikanta Tripathy was the Honorary Secretary. After the inauguration many events were condcted in collaberation with IEI, DFI KIIT University, CET college  and individually. Students chapters have been functional  in CET collage, KIIT University, IIT Bhubaneswar and in CV Raman university in Bhubaneswar. many lecture talk meetings were conducted in Dam Safety conference hall. Nirman Soudh Conference hall, Minor Irrigation conference hall of the department of Government of Odisha.

    Indian Geotechnical Society, Baroda chapter is one of the oldest chapters of the IGS main body having head quarter at New Delhi. At present there are 51 local chapters of Indian Geotechnical Society in India. IGS-Baroda chapter was formed in the year of 1990 and now it is 33 years old, having more than 300 members from different organizations/fields, like academic institutions, individual consultants, students, practicing engineers, government engineers, construction firms and researchers.

    Geotechnical engineering unlike other branches of civil engineering, contains full of uncertainties in arriving amicable solutions for design, protection works etc. Therefore it is imperative to provide a common platform for researchers, practicing engineers, academicians, government engineers to share the knowledge and experience, along with the latest development and best practices continuously for up-gradation of knowledge for society and engineers. To percolate the benefits of all such interactions upto the youngest engineers in Gujarat, Indian Geotechnical Society, Baroda chapter is formed. Chapter is fulfilling these needs by arranging seminars, conferences, expert lectures, webinars, training course in different disciplines of Geotechnical engineering like shallow and deep foundations, ground improvement, environmental geotechnical engineering, forensic geotechnical engineering, offshore investigation and many more, Until now chapter have organized more than 60 such programs successfully. During 17 Dec - 20 Dec, 1997 chapter hosted the Indian Geotechnical Conference 1997 and on the eve of Silver Jubilee year in 2015, chapter hosted 5th Indian Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference as a humongous celebration, the whole event witnessed grand success. The chapter received the IGS-AIMIL Best Local Chapter awards twice in year 1996 and 1999. Chapter also received Appreciation awards thrice for conducting excellent technical activities for the benefits of professionals in 2018, 2019 & 2021.

Shahu were  the Chief Guest. Dr. Dasaka S. Murthy, Secretary – IGS Mumbai Chapter and Er. Vikas Patil, Chairman- IGS Pune chapter were Guest of honour. Dr. N.G. Patil, Principal, MIT were present. The President of G.S. Mandal’s, MIT group of institutions, Dr. Y.A. Kawade presided over the function. IGS Aurangabad chapter has 30 members.   IGS Aurangabad Chapter was awarded IGS AIMIL Best Local chapter award for the year 2021. The 231st IGS Executive Committee meeting was conducted on 11th June 2022 at IGS Aurangabad Chapter, Marathwada Institute of Technology, Aurangabad. IGS Aurangabad Chapter hosted the ‘Ninth Indian Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference’ (9IYGEC) at MIT, Aurangabad on 21-22 March 2023. Also, 234th IGS Executive Committee meeting was conducted on 21st March 2023 at IGS Aurangabad Chapter, MIT, Aurangabad.
