Yes, major content on this website is freely accessible. We believe in providing valuable technical information to everyone. However, there are sections, open only to its members, which include Member Directory, IGS Technical Journals and Participate in Elections. This is possible only through your official member Login. The credentials for login can be provided only to authorized IGS members through IGS office only.
In case you are already a member and you have your credentials for the earlier site, same credentials will work on the new site also. User name will always be your User ID generated by IGS office which is normally a five Digit (numeric) number allotted by IGS.
You can however change your passwords if required through forgot password link.
Non IGS members will not be able to view the secured sections mentioned above. You need to be a member first to access all these sections.

Yes. You can apply for membership directly through this website. Membership guidelines and type of memberships are mentioned on the website.
Payment for membership can be made through online mode, via a secured payment gateway on the website.
IGS office will scrutinize the membership forms and if you fulfill the conditions as laid on the website, you will become a formal IGS member. You will receive a formal notification by the IGS office with a formal membership letter with credentials.
Online Membership process has now been simplified in the website as compared to an old website.
It also has features like fully automated email notification upon member registration, Forgot password, and OTP verification.
Website can be amended n number of times, if really required, for its content and pictures, within the given architecture. Most of the site is Dynamic and can be amended by the web admin as required.
But very frequent changes is not recommended. They should be done judiciously and after verifying the facts and approval from the concerned authorities.
Web admin currently is the IGS Office who has the right to amend, as required, without modifying the structure. We don’t have to depend on the service provider for making changes. A simple yet very powerful CMS (Content Management System) has been provided to make the changes from the backend. The changes are reflected on real time as the changes are done.
Currently it will be handled by the web admin, till the site stabilizes but there is provision to create more users as required, with authorisations given for specific jobs or sections.
Later we can even plan to give rights to the Local Chapters which will allow them to make changes in their respective sections as required, but after formal training and handholding.
Web Admin (admin@igs.org.in) however, remains super coordinator of all activities.
Yes, the New website is more secured in terms of security as compared with respect to the earlier website, as the new website has Google-verified Captcha and spam protection.

E-elections/E-voting can be done through the new website.
Online Election process has now been simplified as compared to the earlier website. Final Nomination List will be available on the website alongwith the manifestos of interested candidates. Voting Window will be specified and the votes will have to be casted within the window only by IGS members, asper current procedure/norms laid by IGS.
The result, and other details is now easily accessible online to all members. Security aspects have been taken care of. We don’t have to depend or pay Service Provider for this process any more.
Members of IGS will get their new and simplified dashboard on the website through which they can manage their profile/message to others etc
You can add your own latest profile picture, your bio, your interest etc on your page and personalize the content, within given structure.
However, this is limited to IGS members and access is possible only through Bonafede credentials.
No, Local Chapters or Student Chapters can now save this money. They needn’t have separate websites. But they will be required to share information on all activities done or planned with IGS office so that they can keep the site updated.
Your information will actually provide a macro picture of the IGS. We needn’t live in silos but work as a bigger family, working and contributing together to a bigger cause.
IGS Journals can be accessed only by IGS members.
If you are a member, login through your credentials, and go to Journals on the Resources Tab. It will take you to the Journals Page which will be further routed to Springers link. You can now view and also download the technical papers. Quick links on the footer also available for Journals.
IGS Conference Proceedings, Annual Lectures, Technical Reports, Awards are available under Resources section.
