IGS offers various categories of membership which is open to individuals, institutions, and organizations whose activities are akin to the aims of the Society. Presently IGS has around 6000 members under various categories of membership. Distinguished individuals who have made noteworthy contributions are acknowledged by the Society through the bestowal of an "Honorary Fellowship." To date, 24 esteemed members have received this prestigious recognition. The member distribution of the Indian Geotechnical Society is spread across different states and regions of India.
