Dear Esteemed members,

This also brings in great responsibility. I on behalf of our President and the entire NEC, assure you that we would try our best to live up to the expectations of all our IGS members. IGS has evolved into a very vibrant society and this evolution has also raised the expectations. We have seen that clearly in the recent IGC 2022 held at Kochi.

Our Society has completed its 75 years of glorious journey and this year 2023 is our platinum jubilee year where IGS is working to do several technical events for the benefit of our esteemed members and society at large. IGS provides a unique platform to Geotechnical Professionals to interact and share experiences through Indian Geotechnical Journal, Newsletter, technical papers in Indian and International geotechnical conferences and technical committee meetings. IGS has well planned activities for everybody, namely, young geotechnical engineers, field practitioners, academicians, R&D institutions, equipment manufacturers and industry.IGS has instituted several awards, fellowships and incentives to recognize the achievements in GeotechnicalEngineering.

With the valuable guidance and support from all honourable members, I hope to successfully discharge my duties and fulfil the mandate of Indian Geotechnical Society. For all round inclusive development of the society, it is important to get constant feedback from all the stakeholders.
