Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) was established in the year 1948 with an aim to promote cooperation among the Engineers and Scientists for sharing the advanced knowledge in the fields of Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engg., Soil Dynamics, Engg. Geology, Rock Mechanics, Snow and Ice Mechanics and allied fields and their practical applications.
The Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Agartala Chapter was inaugurated on the 2nd of November 2018 comprising 50 dedicated life members of the Indian Geotechnical Society. The IGS Agartala Chapter has set its sights on expanding its membership base to a total of 200 members, underlining its commitment to inclusivity and growth.
