About Us

Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) was established in 1948 with its headquarter at Delhi. It is affiliated to the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).It has more than 40 chapters in various parts of the country. IGS - Trichy Chapter is one of such chapters working under IGS National Body, New Delhi. IGS Trichy Chapter was started in the year 2014and is dedicated to advancing knowledge and creating opportunities for the sharing of information by academicians and practitioners in a broad range of geotechnical disciplines with the view of contributing to the achievement of excellence in geotechnical engineering for the benefit of society.IGS Trichy Chapter will accomplish its aim by regular technical meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars and site visits to make a concerted effort to train the practising engineers, students about the significance and importance of Geotechnical Engineering .
